The Holy and Familiar Catholic Mass

In every age, beginning with Jesus at the Last Supper, the Mass has been at the center of Catholic life. Familiar but never routine, repetitive but never dull, the Mass is renewed every day. With legions of angels, we offer up our prayers and lamentations while composing our hearts to the will of God.

In 155 A.D. St. Justin Martyr described "the Eucharist" (as the term "Mass" was still centuries away), and we can readily see the similarities between this worship service and our Mass today. The core of the Mass is unchanged.
