People of Faith

The Old Testament offers us foundations for our most important religious beliefs. It also helps us understand the roots of Jesus' faith and traditions as well as the New Testament. People of Faith reminds us of the many promises God has kept for us and encourages us to accept our own individual callings.

DISC ONE

MOSES: The prophet who led the people from slavery to freedom (19 min). We remember the promise that God has made and faithfully keeps with us.

JOSEPH: The dreamer who forgave his borthers for selling him into slavery (14 min). We remember that, in providing for us, God chooses different people to help and guide us.

JONAH: The reluctant prophet who is eventually inspired by the Lord (14 min). We remember that God shows love and mercy to all people.

RUTH: The generous and devoted daughter-in-law (17 min). As Ruth leaves her homeland and journeys with her mother-in-law, Naomi, we remember to be faithful as parents and children to one another and to God.

DISC TWO

ABRAHAM AND SARAH: The father and mother of all believers (14 min). As Abraham and Sarah journey to an unknown land to accept Yahweh as their God, we are reminded that God has called us to live in friendship with God and with one another.

DEBORAH: The prophetess and judge, ""Mother of Israel"" (12 min). We remember we are called to stand against injustice and to stand for the rights of others.

JEREMIAH: The prophet who speaks in God's name for 40 years (17 min). We remember to be patient through ridicule and suffering, to persevere in speaking God's word and to be cautious of following false prophets.

DAVID: The shepherd, musician and warrior (17 min). We remember to express joy and gladness before God, to have friendships and to call upon God to heal our broken hearts.
