Mary Lee Barron, PhD, APRN, FNP-BC, is associate professor, School of Nursing, Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville. Dr. Barron has more than 30 years of clinical and academic experience and was recognized in 2014 as a Fellow in the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. She is the founder and director of Marquette Fertility Education (marquettefertilityed.com), offering direct patient care services and research in natural family planning (NFP), and has for many years taught NFP to couples as well as to other teachers.
